Scott M. Carnahan, MS, MPT, ATC
Director of Services
Scott is the owner of SportsPlus. He received his degrees in athletic training and physical therapy from The University of Iowa and a masters degree from Western Illinois University. Scott specializes in treating complex conditions of the lumbar spine, foot/ankle, and upper extremity conditions relating to the throwing athlete. He is married to Brenda and together they have 3 children, Grant, Kyle, and Maggie. Scott enjoys sports and fitness activities, including coaching his children's sporting activities and is a member of Marshalltown Rotary and New Hope Christian Church.
Brett Hand, MA, ATC, CSCS
Director of Sports Medicine & Outreach
Brett brings a varied background of experience and settings to SportsPlus. He graduated from East Tennessee State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training and Furman University with a Masters degree in Exercise Science. Brett is currently pursuing a Physical Therapist Assistant degree from San Juan College in Farmington, NM.
Corey Gray, MPL, CSCS
Originally from Republic, MO, Corey earned his Bachelor's degree in Physical Education from William Penn University in 2008, where he also competed on the football team. He also went on to earn his Master's of Business Leadership from William Penn University in 2011. At William Penn, Corey was a Graduate Assistant strength and conditioning coach working predominately with men's and women's basketball and volleyball. Corey is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). At SportsPlus, Corey coordinates the PEAK Performance Program and works with athletes and individuals through comprehensive strength and conditioning programs. In his free time Corey enjoys strength training as well as any outdoor activity.
Randi Mehmen, MS, ATC, PES
Randi joined SportsPlus in 2008 and since 2009 has been serving as the head athletic trainer at Marshalltown High School. Randi received her Athletic Training degree from Iowa State University and her master's of Athletic Training from the University of Northern Iowa. While at UNI, Randi worked as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at Wartburg College. Randi also is a certified Performance Enhancement Specialist through the National Academy of Sports Medicine.
